"Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick." (Luke 9:1-2).
As followers of the Word, we are given authority to exercise the rights as a sons and daughters of the Kingdom. The kingdom of God is the power of God. "For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. " (1 Corinthians 4:20).
So, how can we express the power of God?
1.Healing. Healing is a general gift given to every follower of Jesus (take note: i mean Jesus, not pastors). Healing and the expulsion of demons and unclean spirits are twin brothers, because the root cause of sickness and oppression against our health came from the devil. "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." (Matthew 13: 25).Sickness and diseases are tares in the Soul of man. Jesus also said in Matthew 15:13 that whatsoever my Father has not planted shall be uprooted. You have right over sickness if you speak with authority (You hear and speak God's word). You can read my article Healing By Faith. Through healing the Kingdom of God is come to your body (The Kingdom of God is the power of God).
2.Preaching. Preaching is declaring God's word of prophecy unto those who would believe. In preaching you are sowing the seed of the Kingdom into the minds of men which will enter into their heart and becomes faith in them. Preaching is also to send the word of God to heal, and to deliver men from their destruction. Psalms 107: 20 says, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
Preaching brings deliverance, because it is only the truth that can set you free. Through preaching, the Kingdom of God comes to the mind.
3. Praying. Prayer is a communication of faith between a believer and God. Prayer is also a warfare between a believer and the adversaries. Life is warfare, more than what to eat and what to drink or what to wear. We are constantly at war with the enemies of our soul. You can read The Enemies of A Christian. These enemies which are the children of the devil also make their prayers. They release spells which are Satanic prayers. I am talking of Witches and Wizards. They are everywhere in the world with us. They are in the churches even leading groups, taking prayers, sermons etc. In Revelation 2 verse 20, Jesus was angry with one of the angel of the church for allowing Jezebel to teach and to seduce the servants of God to commit fornication.
"Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols."
Let's not pretends as if Satan is the only enemy we're waging war against. Satan can't actually achieve much without this cohort of darkness and destruction- witches and wizards. From my experience this sets of people are countless among us. You need to be wise as serpent for you to sense this kinds of people.
Through praying the Kingdom of God comes into the spirit of a man.
