Anointing

The word anointed is being used in several scriptures in the bible- in the old and new testaments. Kings were anointed by God's servants, the prophets.  In the book of Samuel, God anointed Saul through Samuel the prophet or the seer as he was being called. Also, God anointed David the son of Jesse. The anointing can be expressed through the pouring or rubbing of oil on the head of the anointed.

The anointing means God's favour in what you do or called to do. Acts 10:38,
" How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."

So many people might be doing the same thing but if you are anointed, yours will be different from the crowd. People will find what you do more attractive.

Just the way oil makes something to shine, so the LORD will cause you to shine among your fellow.

By the anointing every evil yoke is broken, and burdens are lifted up- Total freedom guaranteed. Isaiah 10:27,
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing."

The LORD will make you the envy of your work, career, and business. Like Isaac who prospered in the midst of famine..

How to receive the Anointing

1. Receive the Prophetic Word: Jesus was anointed by God through Jacob's prophecy (Jacob who is also known as Israel), and by God's words of prophecy unto David in Psalm 89. When Jacob blessed his children, he blessed Judah by anointing Judah (of which Christ came from) with the scepter. Genesis 49:8-10,
"Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."

Also in Psalm 89, God spoke words to David which were not fulfilled to David, but He (God) was referring to Christ the Branch of  David (Isaiah 11:1; Zachariah 3:8; Acts 2:)- the second David, which is the Messiah, Christ the King. Receive the prophetic word!

2.  Receive the Prophet: Matthew 10:41 says, "He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward." When you speak evil of God's prophet, you speak evil against God.
