Being an enemy of lust, is being an enemy of yourself. When you fail to forecast approximately what your future holds you certainly becomes your own enemy. If you read the book of Matthew chapter 22 verse 54-62 , you'll find that Peter, an enemy of lust (an enemy of himself) fell into temptation. Jesus advised him to watch and pray, in order to know what the future holds.
Matthew 26:40-41,
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
That's why Paul said that one thing he does is that he forgets what is behind and look at what is ahead- forecast. Our former or past achievement does not necessarily determines our future.
Without a right forecast you'll be creating problems for yourself. This is a new year, and Satan has made budget of problems for this year, we need to know what God is saying concerning our lives.
We need to pray and listen to what the Lord is saying to us concerning our lives this year. Devil wants to make us our own enemy (our own problem), therefore we should forecast of our life by the word of God, and by His Spirit.
Zachariah 4:6,
So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

What is Lust?
Lust is the lies your mind tells you. That's why Paul the apostle said the god of this world has blinded the minds of those that believe not the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4). So lust is to be blinded by Satan in your mind. This turns you on against yourself.
Looking at the world today, lie has been the biggest tool of Satan destructive and divisive leadership plaguing the world. Lies produces anger, hatred and fear etc.
