Love is a spiritual gift from the God (Romans 5:5). Love also is a fruit of the HolySpirit (Galatians 5:22). We are created with love, which is the spirit of obedience to the creator. Even the wind obeyed Jesus. So everything on earth was created with love. But what went wrong? Why is everyone not living in love and by love? The truth is for human to love is a matter of our will or choices in life. Man was created differently. Man was created to be son of God (Luke 3:38). God did not create man as a puppet, but a soul. He is a reasonable creature, that needs his will and consent to truly loves.
You can not be forced to love, for love is in freedom. That's why two people who feel free in communicating with each other easily connects in love. Love understands and respects people's freedom or rights. Paul list some attributes of love in 1 Corinthians 13- Kindness, patients, and so on. What's love ? I can define love as a person with all the attributes listed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 13.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails....... (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
The Heart to Love
There are two types of heart. The heart of love; the heart of devil. Each time we disobey God, the heart of devil comes into us. While each time we obey God the heart of love dwells in us. God told Cain that Sin (a devilish heart) lies at the door because Cain did not obey. Genesis 4:7,
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it."(New International Version)
This devilish heart is to turn the world upside down, as Jesus highlighted in John 10:10- to steal, kill, and destroy. We need the spirit of love to heal our broken hearts.
A lot of people are not getting any answers to their prayers because of the heart of devil. They walk in darkness as in 1 John 5:7,
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."(New International Version)
.
The Spirit of love is also the Spirit of Christ. While the Spirit of the Anti-Christ is the spirit of hatred. The Anti-Christ is already here with us, he is a wicked king and leader of the world's government....
The mark of Christ is the Spirit of love.
Receiving the Spirit of Love
1. Walk in the Spirit. You need to ask God daily to open your spirituals eyes to see, and your spiritual ears to hear. Life is beyond the natural. A natural man cannot love God, because he is born blind (John 3:3). Those who walk in the Spirit, walk in the light. Through light we can obey God's word.
2. Looking Unto Jesus. Hebrew 12:2 says,
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;"(King James Version)When you look to Jesus and follow his steps you are walking in love. Peter at the sea took a bold step and came out of the ship to walk on the sea while he was looking unto Jesus. But while he began to look at the storm he started sinking. A lot of christian are like that, they were doing well in their spiritual life when they were looking at Jesus, but now they are sinking because they are looking at their enemies, problems or their pastor.
3. Be Consistent with God's Word. Fear comes with inconsistencies. In a stopwatch were the number changes at a given interval, then someone tells you that the number in the stopwatch is 2. Would you believe? For sure, it's no. Why? It's because the number is inconsistent, so is fear. Satan brings different thoughts or false evidence to bombard your heart. When you're ignorant of this device you began to tremble or shake in your faith. Believe in the truth!
Conclusion
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.(2 Timothy 1:7).
