'The entrance of your words give light; it gives understanding to the simple' (Psalm 119 vs 130).
God's word has an unlimited resource of power. The word of God created everything that is in the world, and without the word was nothing created according to John's gospel(John 1:1-4 ). The word comes out from God's mouth (Matthew 4:4). The word is the truth (John 17:17). When one believes and receives God's word then light and understanding has come! To believe means to give your affection, attention and intention to know something; while to receive is to take the instructions of God's word.
The Power in the Word:
1. Light- Light is prophetic knowledge. Knowing about the future; also knowing God's plan concerning you.
2. Grace- This is the power that draws men to God. John 6:44 stated: "No one can come to me unless the Father who has sent me draws him." Also in John 12:32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself." We are all saved by grace. God drew us from the waters as He drew Moses out of it. This is what the Jewish law couldn't do, the grace of God could bring a sinner close to God.
3. Life- Life is the satisfaction of your soul. When your soul is full, you are joyful. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word the comes out of the mouth of God." The food we eat only satisfy our flesh, likewise riches; but God's word enters into your inner man and gives you light- what we read in the starting (Psalm 119:130).
